As a counselor, I view myself as a helper invited to walk alongside those
struggling on life’s journey. I seek to communicate compassion,
concern, and hope. Often the worse part about suffering is feeling alone.
I offer my presence
to help alleviate the feeling of isolation and help clients process their
pain. My counseling philosophy rests on the belief that people find healing,
hope, and restoration as they explore their emotional experiences within
the context of a safe, caring relationship. It is my belief that our ultimate
hope is found through the redemptive work of Christ. While my Christian
beliefs influence the way I understand pain and recovery, I see clients
from all religious backgrounds and respect the views of each individual.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, college students,
and adults. I counsel clients with a wide range of life issues, such as
depression, anxiety, identity/self-worth concerns, and trauma recovery.
My areas of focus include women’s issues, college students/young
adults’ life transitions, and spiritual formation.
I received my Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological
Seminary and my Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Georgia State
University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Applicant (LPC-A),
which means I’m earning hours towards becoming a Licensed Professional
Counselor (LPC).
